Perfection – the secret love

I just completed this romance novel about a secret love between neighbours for the 5th time since I bought it. I just can’t get over how awesome this novel is. Perfection is definitely part of my 5 top romance novels of all time.

Zoe was a “plain” young woman who just couldn’t catch a break. I read the first part of the novel and I believe Murphy ’s Law was on her like a bitch. I mean how bad a day can one individual have, so when her jerk of a neighbour steals her food you can clearly understand why she flew off the handle.

Perfection is the second book from the Neighbour from Hell series and Trevor Bradford is the perfect Neighbour from Hell.

“You park in my spot so that I’m forced to park in the street… You steal my paper every morning, you run the water when I’m taking a shower leaving me to freeze my ass off and with no water pressure. You blast your television all night. You’re loud and so are your friends… And every night you watch porn! AND YOU ARE LOUD. REALLY LOUD”

When Zoe finally snaps after a hard, painful day she goes off at her neighbour, the timid girl we read about in the beginning just about disappears because from now on Zoe is funny, strong and probably the most awesome chick ever. I couldn’t stop smiling at her courage and how confident she was as a person.

Zoe knows herself and is not intimidated by how hot Trevor is and she stands up to him and his craziness which makes them so compatible.

I loved (still love) Trevor, apart from being the biggest jerk on earth he is the sweetest. His a Bradford which automatically means he is way too HOT for comfort and his got an eating obsession.

“The Bradford appetite was a disability, damn it and should be treated as such.”

I laugh every time I read about any of the Bradford family food stories.

After a crazy encounter the two become each other’s secret love. I for one am a big fan for secret love affairs, it’s entertaining reading how the characters struggle with keeping apart in public. Especially guys and Trevor is no exception, even though he keeps telling himself she is not his perfect woman. Trevor keeps on about how he is going to find the perfect woman and marry her. How the perfect woman is not Zoe because she doesn’t meet his standards but when he realises that he couldn’t care less about having the perfect woman I completely melt. Like most secret loves the two fall in love without even knowing, they are so comfortable with each other at home and completely professional to the outside world that they don’t realise the lines are becoming blurry.

“She also wasn’t the type of woman who made men drool, besides him, and got the attention of every guy in the room, but that was okay because none of them should be fucking looking at her anyway.”

Trevor and Zoe as so funny that you can’t help but laugh out loud. The novel is well written, it’s not long and it doesn’t have heart-wrenching moments that leave you in pieces. It’s a light novel with a Happy Ever After.

I would recommend this novel as a light read for anyone who would like to just breeze through a book with tears.

Zoe is used to taking care of herself and has long ago accepted that if anything bad was going to happen, it was going to happen to her. So when she loses her job over something most bosses would probably be happy with and her life starts going down hill from there she doesn't expect it to get any better. She certainly didn't expect any help from the loud jerk next door, but then again she has nothing to lose so puts her trust in him and hopes for the best. What she didn't expect was the once in a lifetime opportunity that he offers her through an arrangement where they both benefit and no one is supposed to get hurt, but she should have known better because her luck has never been that good.

Like most Bradfords, Trevor has a soft spot for food, but that's about all. He leads a pretty straightforward life and likes to keep things simple and that includes his relationships. He wants the perfect woman and knows exactly what she'll be like. So when he discovers much to his horror that he's thinking about his frumpy little neighbor he decides the best way to get his head straight is by working her out of his system. He'll keep her around, but only until he finds perfection.
