Fifty shades of grey is a love story about an innocent university student, Anastasia Steele, and a heartless (at the beginning anyway) multi- millionaire, Christian Grey. The novel starts with Anastasia going in to interview Christian Grey (the hottest man I have ever read) for her friend’s school newsletter. The first moment Christian saw Anastasia he wanted her.
Christians way of life (not only sexually) was something of a movie to Anastasia. The book portrays the seduction of Anastasia into a world she has no clue of. I found myself being seduced by the way the book is written and it made me aware of the tests I have gone through that tests the boundaries of my own internal moral lines. The novels wicked elements are contrasted by the undeniable love of the main characters.
There is more to the trilogy than the explicit sex scenes that seem to be the main reason for the fame of the books, there is an underling understanding of the human condition of what makes us the way we are? How our darkened past affects our future? And mostly how the walls and boundaries we make for ourselves can be broken down by love.
Once you pass all the steaming somewhat questionable sexual practices of the book you will find the true romance that the novels display and find yourself enjoying the books as I did.
